It's very exciting in our house. Harry Potter lives here now. Every day Ellie, Mommy and Daddy are reading about the boy wizard.
It's amazing that I, who taught 10 year olds for so long, has never read it though I clearly remember when the book came out and my students would read the novel again, again and again!!
Fred and Ellie are on page 7. I have read to page 65 in 2 days. I got sucked in. Now I am hooked.
The best surprise will come in December. With the help of our lovely cousins we will be getting into Universal Studios to explore the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Thank you Dan and Denise. We owe you. You name it. It's yours. :-) Perhaps....Sagan? LOL

I love Harry Potter. So glad that Ellie is giving them a try. I think the books are addictive. Have them all and can't wait until Josie & Lucy are both reading them. I would love to have someone read them out loud to me.
The local libraries have the audio book of each novel. Easy peasy! Read aloud. Great for good car trips. We are going to get them for our 8 hour drive to Atlanta in December!
Harry Potter books are of the devil and should be burned! Save the Children! Save the Children! Whatever happened to The Hungry Caterpiller and The Little Engine that Could!
If Ellie was still 3 and reading on that level it would be all good.
