Our Daughter....

I am a terrific eater, I have 4 teeth (2 top/2 bottom), I can say Dada but not Mama yet, I can cruise, crawl and roll over!


Wonderful news! We are the proud parents of a 9 month old daughter from Korea. Yes, Korea! Mi-Hyeon was place on our adoption agency's Waiting Child list this summer. She was diagnosed with a serious birth defect that could effect her ability to walk. After successful surgery in August she showed excellent progress. She is crawling, rolling over, sitting up, cruising and using her legs well.

With the updated information provided to families on Tuesday, September 18 Fred and I asked Dr. Dahan and Dr. El-Said, Ellie's Neurologists, to review the extensive medical file of this sweet baby. Dr. Dahan encouraged the match with the understanding that there might be a delay and other concerns. Nothing that we could not handle. So we told Wide Horizons for Children (our agency) that we would like to be matched. Other families were interested too. The matching meeting was set for Friday and the family who could best meet the needs of this child would be matched with her.

Now that we are matched we can expect her in the next 3 to 5 months. She will be escorted to the United States. We will pick her up in Orlando. If we are allowed to pick her up earlier then I will go and get her from Korea. I would prefer to have her escorted, but would love to have her in the house for the holidays!
