Today we celebrate the 2nd week of Sagan's arrival. It really seems like it has been much longer. She fits in so well.
No longer do we have a screaming, crying baby. Instead we have a lovely, sweet, and even tempered daughter who is incredibly like her sister.
Happy to play alongside her big sister, Sagan is a joy to have at home.
Sagan wakes up about 7am and no longer cries for us to come get her. She simply calls out, "Da!" She goes to bed between 7:30-8pm along with Ellie. She likes that she and Ellie sleep in the same room. I lecture Ellie on being quiet in bed for her sister. However, Sagan is the one doing all the talking. "Da, da, da, da" It's cute. "Mom, Sagan won't stop talking to me."
Sagan loves to eat. She is so predictable. When it's a meal time Sagan will come to us and say, "Um, num, num. Um, num, num." This is a phrase that I heard her foster mom say in the video.
Since coming home she has been to see 2 doctors (Pediatrician and Neurologist) and once to see the after hours pediatrician due to a high fever which we NOW know is from teething.
Once a compulsive thumb sucker Sagan now is stuck with a big bandage on her thumb to keep her from that vice. She had a big bandage on her hand (very mummy or thickly mitten like) but now we are down to just a big bandage and some gauze around her thumb. Her thumb is healing nicely.
We have several nick names for our new girl:
Fuss Bucket: Whining and crying due to teething.
The Stomach: She is a great eater.
Stinky: (Well, you know why)
All in all it has been a great 2 weeks. She has an easy to follow routine and is smiling all of the time. She shows complete trust in us and responds to our names (Mommy, Daddy, and Ellie/sissy). Sagan also will turn to us or enter a room when we call out her name. This was a big surprise so fast.
It is wonderful!!!
