We Have Never Been So Scared

Today was a day that will turn Fred and I gray. Dark gray.

Ellie's school called at 9:30am (30 minutes after I dropped her off) to say that she was sick. I ran back to get her. She was vomiting.

Then the fever came. We knew a seizure was inevitable. I was praying that this would never happen again. Please no more seizures.

Seizure number 8 came at 2pm. It was strong and horrible.

Arms outstretched, hands clenched, teeth grinding, etc. Horrible.

We called 911 if you want to know just how off the wall we were. She was not coming out as fast as she has in the past. The fever was at it high point at 104.

They transported her to the hospital. Diagnosis: Pneumonia

The only sign that she was sick, we thought it was allergies, was a night cough.

An hour after the whole ordeal, as she lay in the examination room EQUIPPED WITH DISNEY CHANNEL THANK GOODNESS, she was herself again.

Thank you to our dearest friends, the Hollyman's, who cancelled their plans for the evening to care for Sagan. They are beyond wonderful.

Thank you to Dr. Dahan, our family neurologist, who kept calling me to make sure Ellie was ok. She is beyond wonderful.

I can't wait till Ellie grows out of this. Each time she has a seizure, I die a little. It is so hard to see her in such distress. We are helpless.
