Sagan's MRI Results

Sagan had her MRI scan on Tuesday and today the results were read.

Have I mentioned how much I love Dr. Dahan and Dr. El-Said (They are married).

I am their family tutor. I was before we knew she was a neurologist. I tutor for their twins every Thursdsay afternoon.

So while I was tutoring the children Dr. Dahan came home. She breezed in with her big smile and laughter. She put groceries away and then asked how Ellie/Sagan were. I told her that I was worried about the MRI results. With that she took me into her office and brought up the MRI results. HOW COOL!

Sagan is fine. However, there is the presence of a LIPOMA (fatty tumor). This does not pose any immediate problems, however, as she grows will the tumor grow? If it does then it will cause her big problems.

So, we are being referred to a NEUROSURGEON. Just to be sure.

What will happen is that the neurosurgeon will look at Sagan and say, "Bring her back in one year and we will do another MRI." They will compare the size of the tumor from one MRI to the other. If the lipmoa needs to be removed then it will be done by the surgeon.

Not a bad report. The MRI images were so fabulous. I was completely amazed.

Once again, I love our doctors. They are wonderful. I am so not leaving Orlando.
