It's 7:30am and Sagan is up too. We were supposed to take the girls to the Magic Kingdom this morning for a breakfast with Pooh and friends at the Crystal Palace, however, Ellie managed to convince our babysitter to allow her to stay up till we got home at 11pm. So Ellie is beyond exhausted and it seems that we will stay home for a part of the morning. Perhaps we will enjoy time in the parks later.
Fred and I had a lovely time last night. We left the house without incident (Sagan did not melt down like we had feared) and made it downtown in record speed. We parked at 5:30 at the Marriott then took a cab the 2 miles to Ichiban. It was quite early and the place was empty. We had a great dinner and then took a cab back to the hotel (which is next to the Bob Carr Performing Arts theater).
The performance began at 8pm. Josh was to perform after the Orlando Philharmonic so we did not see him till after 9:30. He played 2 pieces and then bade us goodnight. It was so worth it. We are starved for any culture here in Orlando, the land of theme parks. As the audience cheered and clapped the conductor encouraged the crowd to get louder and louder in the hopes that he would perform again. He DID!
Joshua came out and with a smile offered us one more selection. He played a piece from the RED VIOLIN. Fred and I nearly died. It was the piece we love the most. Painful, moving, and achingly sweet. I have embedded a You Tube video so you can hear the piece. THE VIDEO IS HORRIBLY SHAKY! Just listen.
