Memorial Day: IK*A PROJECT!

Sunday night we attended a lovely LARGE barbeque at our friend's Danny and Tai's home. Lots of friends we knew and many Bay Meadows teachers. My 5th grade team as well as Caryl our beloved media specialist was there. We talked about Ellie coming to BME next year and how excited they were to see Sagan for the first time.

On Monday (Memorial Day) I burned about 6 strips of turkey bacon because I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE COFFEE UNTIL SAGAN WAS FED! Umm num num! Ummmm num num! She chants over and over again until you feed her. So as I am rushing around the kitchen cooking and did not see that the heat on the stove was too high. It was not pretty.

So after I cooked breakfast for everyone I sat at the table enjoying my coffee with the family. With nothing pressing on our agenda and it being about 8:30AM we enjoying some Brainquest games with Ellie. Then I suggested that we go to IK*A and look at a dining room table.

Fred's office, he works from home, is at my dining room table. It has since spread out. He has a small, rolling filing cabinet, and stacks of books all over.

Ellie enjoys IK*A because of the hour she gets in the playroom and the cake she can get in the cafe. Yum. Ellie loves the Swedish apple cake and milk. Mommy gets to enjoy some coffee (2 cups!) in the cafe too!

What we found at IK*A was a desk for Fred's office that will give him the space to spread out and it fits the office perfectly. So after loading up the minivan with lots of pieces (You must assemble IK*A furniture) of the desk, the girls, and grabbed some lunch on the way home.

Fred then proceeded to assemble the desk, organize the office, vacuum, dust, and entertain the girls as they come into the office for the next 6 hours. It still is not done quite yet. It looks good though.

I am now calling it his "MANROOM."

This is a photo of the desk BUT NOT IN OUR HOUSE! Just a photo of the desks spanse and configuration.
