Asia is Home!

Today we adopted a new kitten. Well Asia is just about 6 months old hardly a kitten but more a teenager of sorts. Uma came home at 8 weeks just a tiny thing. Asia is big and ready for some rough housing with her new friend.

We arranged to adopt Asia through Candy's Cats rescue group here in Orlando. We adopted Uma from them in April 2007. Such a wonderful and loving group of people. They save cats/kittens from kill shelters and people bring them little kittens they find.

Asia has been with them since April. Spring is a big kitten season. Because Asia is all black she was not adopted by anyone. People have superstitions about black cats. While we had Cessna for 12 year with no issue! So when I emailed Candy' Cats I requested an all black, green-eyed female they recommended Asia. She has been ready for adoption since early June. Poor bean! It was so meant to be! She was meant to be with our loving family. She could find no better!

Now that we have her home we are trying to get her to acclimate to her new surroundings. Here are some photos!

I pulled her from the carrier to give her some love and attention. I kept Ellie and Sagan away from her so she could relax.

You can see Asia on Ellie's side. She was happy and purring.

Uma is wondering what that smell is? Another kitty perhaps? Come on Uma go see!

Uma is enjoying her time in the bedroom window. Asia will love it too. The hammock (Uma enjoys it as it allows her a view at window level) and the ottoman (left) has a cushy top/hiding space beneath the cushion. We have lots of wild turkeys, birds, and deer running through our backyard. It's like "Cat TV!"
