Let me begin by saying I am very humble and I do not like to talk about myself, however, today I was promoted at work. A very auspicious day for me!

A New Begining: A Promotion for Mommy!
I work for a very large virtual school for the state of Florida. I have worked at this company for 2.5 years and have felt the need for professional growth over the last few months. I have applied for a few positions, interviewed, and was passed over. Let me explain by saying that EVERYONE at my company is INCREDIBLY talented and brilliant!
The company created 8 new positions for management and I opted to apply. From the word in the office there were many, many applicants. Additionally, these are all "the best of the best of the best." It was very stiff competition to say the least.
When I interviewed I sat in the lobby of our company office with 4 other applicants who were interviewing around my time. I knew them all and they are wonderful professionals. There wasn't one there that I could say did not deserve one of the 8 positions.
Today Sagan woke up at 3am to go potty. An unexpected down side to the potty training business. Sagan is in her crib and needs me to come to get her out to go potty. So I was up early with Sagan and did not go back to bed. With the house quiet I took advantage and wanted to get some grading done. Good thing I did because Fred took the girls to school and I was home to receive an important call about 8:30am.
The call came from a director in the company who wanted to talk to me more about my interest in the position. They were at an impasse and needed more interview time with certain applicants. This tickled me pink that I made it to the final selection. In the 30 minutes on the phone I was confident and articulate. I obviously did well because at 2:05pm...
I was just about to leave to get Ellie from school when my office phone rang. It was an Instructional Leader who was on my interview panel. She simply said, "Hi Jeanne it's ___(insert her name here) and I have called to ask you a question to which I hope your answer is YES!"
Well I hit the ceiling and because she spoke so loudly on the phone Fred heard as well. He was so happy to see me get this position. It is a very, very good step up!
I am officially in management!!! I am an Instructi*nal Manager!
