Teacher Appreciation Week. Ms. Safford

Dear Ms. Safford,

This being Teacher Appreciation Week, I am writing you a poem in ... APPRECIATION!

I have many cliche lines I wish to use but will abstain. :-)

My Koala friend I bow to you.
Long before Ellie came to be I just knew.
I knew that she was meant to be inspired by you.
You face and heart beam a brilliant smile.
Your love for the children boundless.

Boundless.

Remembering your face when I asked if you would teach Ellie.
The appreciation that was pouring from your expressive eyes.
The greatest compliment from one teacher to another.
Asking a teacher to be the teacher to your child.
Nothing could be more meaningful.

Meaningful.

180 days are close at hand. The school year closing.
Ellie always ready at the front door with backpack on.
Making cards, pictures, and crafts to give to you.
She loves you. She admires you.
Always trying her very best to shine in your classroom.
Ellie has learned countless life lessons.

Life lessons.

As her parents we see all that she has accomplished.
Never once have had doubt...well maybe the results of FAIR Testing. :-)
Ellie has told us how much she loves learning in your classroom.
As a teacher I am beholden to you. You have given her your gifts.
There will always be a cozy place in our hearts for you Laurie.
We appreciate the gifts you have given her.

Gifts.

We offer you our, "THANKS!"
We look forward to the years ahead when she says, "Remember my first grade teacher..."
We will smile a warm and happy smile. Always in our hearts.

Fred and Jeanne
