Today Fred told me that he wanted to go on a strict diet of only 2 things. Well, it would make cooking a snap but I am still making 3 meals. So I convinced him that Weight Watchers (keeping him as vegetarian as possible) would be the best way. All 4 of us can eat that way. One meal easy. I can plan for that and it would make shopping so much easier (and less costly).
We shall see!
In 2001 Fred lost 25lbs on Weight Watchers. I had gained 10lbs since the wedding in 1994 and wanted to go back on to WW. I wanted him to go with me and join/weigh in. Well he did for 8 weeks. October 2001 through New Years 2002. He dropped 25lbs and I lost my 10lbs. It's easy when you KNOW you have to stand on a scale 7 days from now.
My favorite story of that diet:
It was the end of the first week. I keep my sanity by promising myself one dinner (the day of weigh in) that is "FREE" no point counting. A treat so to speak. So we weighed in. I remember clearly that Fred lost 6lbs that first week. No Pepsi and very few carbs. It just melted off him. He was so proud but STARVING!
We opted for sushi that night. Fred would go and pick it up so we could eat at home. Sushi is so expensive that a 60.00 sushi dinner becomes about 70.00 when you have to tip! So we usually opt to bring sushi in. Fred got into the minivan that was parked in our garage. As he backed out he BACKED UP into my Saturn! He hit my car!
His excuse.... It was my fault. He was starving to death all he could think about was the mountain of sushi waiting for him at the sushi bar. No damage to the car. Just a scuff. But a good laugh.
We shall see what becomes of us once he returns from Puerto Rico. He wants to start Thursday morning next. I have some planning to do.
