On Friday, January 30, I attended a Nova High School Alumni Event. Well it was really a dedication for Coach McNamara who has taught at Nova for about 30 years. I remember having him as a coach. Never mind all that trauma about dressing out, running a mile, and all of those pull ups he made the girls do. Ugh.
Debbie, Dave, Corey and I set off to enjoy the event. We saw old friends and for me former colleagues! I taught at Nova Blanche Forman from 1996-1998 so there were Nova teacher friends for me to catch up with. Even more special was there were some Nova employees who I taught their children so I was enjoying seeing pictures of my 10 year old 5th graders who are now freshman in college. One was even getting married! Wonderful news.
We all enjoyed the event and I was able to catch up with the guy that took me to my prom in 1988. Daniel Bober, now Dr. Daniel Bober, attended the event. It was very nice to see him again. We all change so much! Here are some pics:
My prom photo from 1988 (Everyone has a Metalic Pink Dress in their closet so don't scoff!)
A photo from the alumni dedication event. Sitting in the bleachers of the small gym.
Sitting now at the Davie Ale House. So much fun!
On Saturday, January 31 Florida Virtual School had their annual event at Barnes and Noble.
I actually traveled to Pembroke Pines, Florida (my hometown) to help out. It was fun!
I was alone the Barnes and Noble at Pembrok Gardens (Lovely outdoor mall) and traffic was light because there are like 5 Barnes and Noble stores in that area!
