Date Night Dinner and the Theater!

Tonight we will go out for dinner and attend a concert at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center.

The girls are eagerly awaiting Amanda (a former student of mine) to babysit and play. She is a wonderful girl and I remember how awkward she was all braids and braces at 10 years old. Now 19 she is so beautiful and a freshman at UCF (With a boyfriend).

Fred and I will dine at Urban Flats downtown tonight. It's only 5 minutes from the performing arts center and a perfect location to avoid traffic. We will arrive at the theater about 715pm to park and get to our seats. The tickets are very clear that if you are late they will not open the doors for you.

We are going to see Chinese pianist Lang Lang. I heard of him through another former student who will be attending the concert as well. The next day I received an email alert from www.halfoffdepot.com selling tickets that were $99.00 face value for $40.00! A definite sign! So we are sitting in row H (About 12 rows back/just left of center). Amazing seats for a fabulous price.

Lang Lang is a Chinese cultural hero.It is said that he is a "rock star" pianist that has inspired millions of Chinese children to study classical piano. He has performed at the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics and is the cultural ambassador for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

We haven't been to the theater for a couple of years. We saw Joshua Bell (Violinist) at the Bob Carr and that was amazing. We still speak of that performance today.
