Ellie had a softball game tonight. OMG! Can I tell you...
Ellie is a great player. However, she is painfully shy. Just asking to join the team was amazing for her. She can play like a rock star. She can hit and field with great skill.
However, she is the smallest on the team (Ages 6-12). She has a small, small, small, strike zone and its hard to give her a good pitch. It's coach pitch so the kids are being pitched to by the coach.
Today was their third game. The past 2 games Ellie's third pitch has been hit off a Tee. The 6 year olds are given 2 strikes and then the Tee is brought out. I feel badly for Ellie but she can hit off the Tee.
Today she TATTOOED 3 of her 4 coach pitches deep into the infield! I was SCREAMING! Fred was not at this game, I felt bad, because he was taking Sagan out to dinner to give her some daddy time. It's equally important. Ellie did an amazing job and she was so proud.
After the game the coach said to her, in front of everyone, "ELLIE, did you have BATTING JUICE before the game?" He was just so praising of her! She beamed. All the way home she was chatting to me about how great she played. She was on a big high.
We are so proud of our girl. Such a slugger!
