HOORAY! It is official!
Korea confirmed the match today.
I love email! Our documents were sent to Korea electronically during their three day holiday (Mon-Wed) and today they responded in our favor.
Now the fun stuff happens. We have printed out about 10,000 pages of Korea paperwork sent to us (electronically) by our agency. Immunization documents, immigration, affidavits and the like. I will be up tonight completing those to be mailed out on Monday.
Of course we have to fall head over heels in love with a baby from Korea. Korea (for those of you who do not know) is the MOST EXPENSIVE country to adopt from. Compared to Ellie's China fees this is about 1.5 Ellie's to 1.0 Sagan's. So off to the bank we will go to arrange to have the roughly $23,000.00 to send to Wide Horizons next week. The figure is sure to keep me up at night.
The great thing about Korea (besides being the country of our daughters birth) is that they deliver the baby to you. That is worth quite a bit in my mind. I do not like flying at all and flying over the Pacific ocean for 10 hours is not my idea of fun. I have done that before and am thankful that I do not have to do it again. We will have Sagan delivered for the fee they ask.
After posting the blog I went and did the math and realized we should be spending about the same for this Korean adoption as we would if Fred and I would have gone to adopt from China. China fees are about $12,000 (agency and China adoption Fees)then add on two weeks of travel to China for Fred and I (roughly $8,000) for a total of $20,000. Therefore, the $22,115.00 is not so bad and I don't have to get on a series of airplanes and travel for 2 weeks (I do not care for travel).
We are so happy, over the moon, click your heels three times so happy. We cannot wait till we get to drive to the Orlando International Airport and greet our new addition. We look forward to sharing this special moment with our closest friends: The Hollyman's, the Grubbs', and the Durney's (Where is Schenectady? Pam and Matt where are you???)
A Gotcha Day is very precious and filled with more joy then any event I know.
Love you all!

If you have 2 weeks notice, maybe Schenectady will make it down there for the magic moment. It is only 2.5 hours on the plane non-stop from Albany. Southwest goes 2 or 3 times a day.
Don't rule us out. We would all love to be there to greet Sagan.
And, yes I can see her as an Alice, too. But stick with Sagan that has been the name in your heart for so long.
See you in 2 weeks. Yippee!!!
Love from the Schenectady Crew (Matt, Pam, Josie & LuLu)
