Just a little update.
Let me begin by saying how much I adore our social worker (Though I will admit it has been rocky due to a few factors) and am thrilled at our pending adoption.
We have already waited for this adoption 15 months. We logged in for China on June 15, 2006 with an anticipated match time of about 24 months. It would have taken longer than that if we stayed with the China program. When you get matched with China or even Ethiopia as we were there is a 2 month wait between referral and travel.
The current wait for Mi-Hyeon will be about 3-6 months. Roughly putting us between a December through March delivery. I do not anticipate it taking as long as March, but we shall see.
Our friends Hyon and David who have a lovely, handsome, charming 2 year old, Noah, waited from mid-October 2005 to February 6, 2006 roughly 15 weeks (3 months).
Our match should occur (Korea must officially match us) either this week or next. The only outstanding factor is that Mi-Hyeon was a waiting child and was basically ready to be matched in early July. So there is a slim chance she could be ready for travel faster. Keep your fingers crossed for December.
From what I am led to understand is that when she is ready to travel whether or not she is being escorted or we go to pick her up there is no difference in time. Does that make sense? We cannot get her sooner if we pick her up. Basically.
Korea will not let us know that she is ready to be delivered until 2 weeks before she does travel.
Now the wait. There's the rub.
