Today Ellie attended another pastry class at the Y*ung Chef's Academy in Hunters Creek. The YCA is a cooking school for children ages 3 and up. She attended a cake decorating class a few months back (at the YCA in Winter Park) and really enjoyed herself.
The class she took was entitled Thanksgiving Desserts. She learned to make a Pumpkin Roll (Cake), snickerdoodle cookies, and how to fold napkins into 2 or 3 different presentations (this was a bit difficult). It lasted 3 hours.
She really enjoyed herself. Ellie loves baking and helping in the kitchen. She especially loves measuring things (measuring cups and spoons fascinate her). In this mixed age class (3-up) and Ellie was one of the youngest. Two other children were younger and had little or no patience for the activity. Ellie's patience and ability to sit to concentrate on a task was notable. The owner, Ms Debbie was very impressed.
I highly recommend it to anyone whose child enjoys working in the kitchen! I am hoping to have Ellie's birthday there. Ellie's totally hell bent on having her birthday back at Pir*tes C*ve Mini Golf!
