On Monday I sent an email to Sarah, the social worker in charge of our Korean case, and asked about Sagan's Emigration Permission or EP.
Emigration Permission is a point in the process that lets families know that their child will be ready for travel in 1-2 months.
I surveyed my friends in the Yahoo Korea group to see who has their EP and where they are in comparison to us.
One family who received their referral on Sept. 15 received their EP on November 16.
We recieved our referral (officially) Sept. 27. So we are not that far behind this family.
So Sarah emailed me that she thinks that Sagan's EP was granted about the same time we had to complete the Class B letter (which was requested on November 6).
Sarah writes:
"Holt has not mentioned if Mi-hyeon's EP has been granted. I am assuming that it has been granted because the Class B letter was issued. Since Mi-hyeon has been waiting for some time, Holt may have just forgotten to inform us. "
I emailed her again.
If Mi-Hyeon's EP has been granted (on or before November 6) should we not be expecting her to be ready to travel in about 4-8 weeks? That would put her between the dates of December 6 and January 6. Right?
Thank goodness Fred set the crib up the day before Thanksgiving. It's going to happen fast, I hope!
Smiles!
