As much as mommy needs a nap I am taking time to blog. The girls (new for me) are fast asleep. Thank goodness that Sagan actually likes her crib. She no does not cry as she did last night. Now it's just a quick whine or two then silence. She loves playing with the Leapfrog Dreamsoother machine set up in her crib. At 430am after she had a bottle she enjoyed smacking it on and off.
The events of last night are quite a blur, as I expected they might be. In our company at the airport were our close friends.
The Grubbs, The Hollymans, and The Ellis'. Everyone who joined us, we thank you. You made it more special.
After Ellie's school performance we drove to the airport. We parked, got a Starbucks and went to wait.
By 9:00pm everyone had assembled. I gave the flight tracking information to everyone so they could see her the plane cross the US. They landed at 9:51pm and then the longest wait began. It's long because you wait in the atrium at the aiport and stare down a long corridor seeing throngs of airline passengers arrive. You crane your neck to see IF the escorts/children are among the group.
Robert Grubbs announced that he could indeed seen them. We saw Sagan in the pouch of the female escort. We could not see her face. I gestured to the escort that she was ours. I was holding Ellie so I am sure that she could have guessed by our HUGE smiles. Sherri Hollyman helped our escort unlock the baby pouch and Sagan was handed to Fred. Sagan promptly burst into angry tears. She wanted the ecorts so much that she lunged for them. Fred then handed her to me and she cranked it up one octave. Sagan wanted nothing to do with Ellie and actually pushed her away.
More to come later. Must sleep.
