Has it really been 16 years? No, it has not. We have not been married 16 years, but we met on January 12, 1992. We will celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary on December 11. We have been married the longest, I think, of all our friends whom we grew up with in Ft. Lauderdale.I wanted to share a few memories and dedicate these fondly to my sweetie and soul mate.
* Fred and I were set up on a blind date. I worked at the Disney Store and one of my managers (Bob) worked PT at Ft. Lauderdale Exec. Aiport. He worked with Fred. Fred mentioned that you can never meet any "Nice" girls unless you are set up by friends. The rest is history.
*Fred and I had dated just a couple of times when I decided I did not think I wanted to continue. My mother suggested a few more dates. The rest is history.
*One of our favorite memories was a picnic dinner I packed to bring to Fred who worked 3-11pm at the airport. We ate our first picnic on the ground next to (not too close) to the runway. I can remember everything we ate.
* We went to dinner at the Galleria Mall one night. This was just about a month after we started dating. He was retelling a story and blurted out, "This is the woman I love." He loved me. Awwww. He said it first. I remember giving him a card. It was Piglet holding a bouquet of flowers. On the front it said, "I love you." When you open the card it read, "and it's all your fault."
*A funny story that totally flipped Fred out. At the end of February we took our first trip to Disney (We lived in Ft. Lauderdale). We were to stay a couple of nights at a time share with my parents. We arrived at night and my mother told my father to "Push the two beds together in the guest room." OMG! My mother said that. I was a good girl! Poor Fred. He must have been so embarrassed.
*On last story (Running low on battery), I was just 21 when we met and I had not dated seriously ever. So I did not offer to kiss Fred at all. I did not know what the protocol was. Fred was such a gentleman that he never said anything...until... We were standing outside my house and he said to me, "So are we ever going to try this kissing thing?" Oh my. The rest is history.
Just some sweet memories about my sweetie!
Love you Bunk. So very much.
