The Question of the Day (Ellie's School)

Each day of the week Ellie must respond to, "The Question of the Day." Ms. Jacqui posted this question today:

Do you look like your mother?

Well, I had to think about this one.

I told Ellie (in front of lots of other mommies), "Yes, Ellie you look just like your mother."

Mrs. Jacqui looked at me perplexed as did three other mom's who heard me tell Ellie.

One of the mom's said to me, "The question asks does Ellie look like you." Trying to be helpful. She was staring intently at me.

I smiled, picked Ellie up, and turned to Mrs. Jacqui and the moms. "No, that is not what the question is asking. It is asking if Ellie looks like her mother. Yes, Ellie looks exactly like her beautiful mommy. Her biological mommy."

Ellie just beamed at me. She liked that explanation.

Just had to educate a few people at Ellie's school about the ways of the world.
