The Napping House: Where Everyone Is Sleeping (Except for Mommy Who is Blogging)

It's nearly 2pm today and the house is asleep. Sagan, who we are trying to break the nap cycle for but she is not doing well later in the afternoon, is nestled all snug in her bed. She is wearing her mittens (socks) to ensure that subconsciously she is not putting her thumb in her mouth. We are now about 30 days "thumb free!"

Funny thing! Last night the kids were going to bed at 9pm which is late for them. Ellie had softball practice and Fred took the girls to Whole Foods for dinner. Sagan was so exhausted and beyond reason. I came home just as they were put in bed. Sagan immediately starts to cry. "I have a fever!' I felt her and she was fine. Then I thought....ahhh she wants her thumb! No, Sagan no thumb. She was distraught. I felt badly but we didn't want to start that thumb thing only to break her habit again.

Ellie was up early today. Well everyone was. We had to be at the ball field at 8:30 for practice after practicing last night from 6-8pm So she was so tired. After her game today, which she did awesome, she got a cold shower (it was hot and humid all morning)ate lunch and then we settled her on the couch to rest. She passed out! My poor bean!

Uma and Asia have a distinct routine. Napping through the afternoon in their windows. You see we have turkey, deer, hawk, and lots of squirrels. The window allows them to look outside and enjoy some entertainment. When they get bored they will sleep.
