I have only been working in my position for a few days now. It took a few weeks to get my replacement trained and another week to get the transfer completed. Last Tuesday was just like the last day of school for me. The kids would email, IM and text me "goodbye." They all had lovely things to say about me. I appreciated their comments and endearments.
My leader, Donna, is wonderful. She is very encouraging and does not seem to mind my questions. I look forward to taking some of the work from her shoulders so she can work on the more important things in her position. I ask for things to do as I am no longer grading or making calls to students every 15 minutes.
My role is simple. Support my leader and the 70 teachers (soon to be 100 teachers) in our schoolhouse.
Wednesday was a heady day. I was totally engrossed in the managers work this particular day. I was receiving calls and emails to have me help! I was filled with a total sense of happiness! I craved a change and the change (so far) is wonderful.
I have a lot of meetings out of the house so Fred and I must coordinate our schedules. I have a three day meeting in Daytona this February so that will be interesting. I can handle Fred going away for a week at a time but when I go away I worry about him. It's a lot of work but he can handle it. It's only going to be 2 nights.
