The Zanegood School For Better Babies.

For those of you who have never attended the orientation day of the Zanegood School we would like to review a few rules that must be adhered to.

1. Always tell your child that you love them (be specific) at any opportunity even IF they do not speak the language just yet.

2. Always maintain a schedule in your home. Breakfast, playtime, errand time, nap time, etc. The child will thrive with structure and be happier having no surprises. This is not always possible but do what you can to see that this happens.

3. Never bend to your child's tantrum. No matter how cute, sweet, and dainty your baby is they should never know how to manipulate you.

These are three of the covenents we adhere to at our school. Mind you Sagan has no idea what she is up against. We will help her move to the "rhythm" of the household. I predict it will take 4 weeks to get her there. Consistency and structure over 4 weeks. Anyone taking bets?

Sagan is a darling baby. This morning she was enchanting. Her laughter, smiles, clapping and bright eyes are wonderful. Unfortunately, this "enchanting" behavior lasts maybe 2 hours. Then we are left with the rest of the day and a screaming child.

Sagan's behaviors that she learned in Korea must be unlearned here. Those behaviors are:

1. Screaming when you do not pick her up and hold her. (This is all day long).
2. Shaking her head "no" with great enthusiasm. Mostly while screaming.
3. Pointing at me and scremaing.
4. Throwing herself down on the ground and screaming in the sitting position.

We are sure that she is still suffering from the time difference. We are working hard with her to move through the day and have her in bed at a comfortable time.

Tonight she is sleeping in my favorite pajama sets. It's a pair of blue Gap dinosaur pajamas. She looks great. She is sleeping. I hope for 8 hours.
