Ellie Skye Zanegood...GOTCHA!

Ellie's referral photo. 5m old.

4 Years ago, on March 17, we became the proud parents of 11 month old (DOB 4/13/03) Fu Xin Jin. She had been abandoned in front of a government building at age 3 days (estimated). She was warmly dressed with no note attached. She was brought to the Fuling Welfare Orphanage in Fuling, China (2 hours outside of Chongqing).

My heart breaks for her mother and father who had to make the decision to let her go. She is truly the most wonderful child. We are so blessed.

A new mommy for about 2 hours. We saved this outfit for Ellie to keep. We look at it often. Can you see how big her smile is? She was always smiling. I would speak to Fred (Who could not travel due to surgery) and I would tell him that Ellie has two emotions...happy and happy. She never cried. Considering she went from a Chinese orphanage to a blonde, Caucasian mommy she adapted beautifully.

Look at that Tina! Black shirt and jeans! It's been going on for years!

A couple of days later in Chongqing. A great lunch was served and Ellie is wearing my favorite Gap dress. Sagan wears it at least once a week now. If you look closely you will see it's a sun dress. Ellie is wearing leggings and a long sleeved shirt beneath. China culture believes a baby should be covered neck to ankle. So we had to adapt. The day Rossy and I were leaving China to return to America Ellie wore shorts and a t-shirt for the flight. The stares in the Beijing airport were overwhelming. It didn't matter. She was ours.
