Our "Staycation"

With all of the chatter on the news regarding gas prices, energy prices, corn crop yields, unemployment and whatnot it is a bleak outlook for sure.

The new word on the American venacular is "Staycation."

A staycation is when people/families stay home and do not travel on vacation/holidays. Families are learning to do more things near their homes rather than travel for vacation car/plane/or otherwise.

Fred and I were discussing it. Fred has to travel quite a bit for his job. So a staycation suits him just fine. Also, we live in Central Florida the "Theme Park Capital of the World." Just how lucky are we.

We hold park passes to Disn*y, Sea W*rld, and Aquati*a. On any given day we have the world at our feet. We can go to a water park, theme park, see shows and 1000 other things that would fill our summer days. These will not cause us to use gas extensively (15 minutes to any park we choose) and we are home for meals if we choose to eat at home for lunch or dinner. We like to snack in the parks if we go in.

We do travel once a year as we love the Disn*y Cruis* as it is only a 45 minute drive to the port and onboard for a 3,4, or 7 night vacation aboard a floating 5 star hotel. We are already looking forward to next April's cruise (so is Ellie).

So our life is one big STAYCATION! It's a lovely life!
