Ode to Denise and Dan

I dedicate this blog post to Denise and Dan.

Denise is my cousin. She and her sweet hubby Dan have been waiting since March 2006 for their adoption of a beautiful Chinese daughter. It has been nearly three years since they logged in for the wait.

Checking the blogs China is only up to February 17, 2006 and moving at only 5-6 days per month. Which means, unfortunately, they may have to wait 4-6 more months for their referral. It's maddening.

Fred and I logged in June 2006 (3 months AFTER Denise and Dan). When we waited only a year, at that point June 2007, I refused to wait 3-4 years for a sister for Ellie. So we applied for Ethiopia which would be 6 months wait for a daughter. Then the next month Sagan appeared on our radar and we had a new daughter before Hanukkah. So in all our wait for daughter #2 was 18 months. Ellie took only 10 months log in to travel!

I could not imagine being in their shoes waiting for a first daughter all this time. They are blessed with a strong marriage and lots of love around them. When Gigi comes home it will be well worth the wait.

Hugs to you for your patience. It is so very worth it. Promise!
